Inadequate student supplies is a chronic problem in Belize, whether in school or at home. In some cases, children cannot even go to school because they lack the needed supplies. This cause is intended to assist whenever possible by having funds available for a given need. To assist a specific school please see this Cause, Support a School.
As a general guide, we need US $100 for basic supplies for 10 kids, $1,000 for one classroom's common supplies, $2,500 for one school's common supplies.
Whenever possible, we purchase the requested items locally to minimize shipping costs and support local merchants.
To date we provided :
1) A Brush Cutter for Golden Stream School so that students could spend more time in rather than cutting brushes around the school with machetes.
2) Emergency school supplies for 25 students in San Roman village so that they could do their homework at home during the COVID pandemic.
However, this is only possible with the help of donors!
