Believe in Belize is assisting Southern Emergency Service (SES) located in Stann Creek District (at the junction of Hopkins Road and Southern Highway) with their community care initiative.  The multi-phased goal is to train key individuals in each village in Stann Creek & Toledo Districts to provide immediate First Aid and CPR/AED care to the sick and injured while waiting for Emergency Medical Service (EMS) to arrive.

Phase 1: Train 5 individuals in 15 communities (75 total) and provide each individual with a First Aid Kit of supplies to help within their community within the first 6 months of 2022.

Phase 2: Additional villages will be added as funding becomes available with the goal of having 150 community care First Aid/CPR/AED trainees in 2022.

The cost of each First Aid Kit is US $60 (see attached file for kit content).  The First Aid / CPR / AED training course itself is US $45 which includes two full days of training consisting of theoretical discussion and practical exercises. Total funds needed to train 150 individuals is US $15,750.  Students redo the course every 2 years to recertify.

This training is part of the larger goal to build EMS response in the more remote villages of Stann Creek and Toledo that have no clinics or health care professionals and little or no real access to healthcare.
