Many schools in Belize do not have computers or other educational tools such as tablets.  This means that thousands of students do not have access to computers during school time and the problem is compounded by the fact that most of those students do not have access to computers after school either.

This initiative explores different ways to provide computers to schools.

One major method of distributing computers to schools is through our partnership with MESA/RCI https://believeinbelize.org/Stories/partnership-between-believe-in-belize-and-mesa.  However, we still have to provide them with computers and/or help cover the cost of shipping their computers for their semi-annual missions (for information about our shipping service please see this link https://believeinbelize.org/sitepage/consolidated-container-shipping-service).

For US $100 we can provide a school or a village community center with a tablet or a refurbished desktop computer with internet and video capability.  The latter is an important capability as we expand our online tutoring service.  Each computer helps 5 to 20 students depending on the school / village size.

For examples of our previous computer / tablet distributions, please see the links in the menu box on this page.

As a US based 501c3 charitable organization, Believe in Belize collects tax deductible donations based on current US laws.  We do not charge any fees, so 100% of what is donated (minus 3rd party charges, e.g. credit card processing fees) goes towards the computers.  For additional information please contact us at donations@believeinbelize.org.
